Get yourself out of the swirl of thoughts
1. Thoughts create feelings
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is based on the concept that your thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and actions are interconnected, and that negative thoughts and feelings can trap you in a vicious cycle.
Negative thoughts usually create "cognitive distortions" which are faulty or biased ways of thinking about ourselves and/or our environment. They are beliefs and thought patterns that are irrational, false, or inaccurate, and they have the potential to cause serious damage to our sense of self, our confidence, and our ability to succeed.
Beat Stress will help you understand and challenge the most common distortions.
This is about breaking the vicious circle of depressing or anxious thoughts, feelings and behavior. Almost every time when you're feeling bad, it's caused by or being made worse by "automatic" negative thoughts.
This thought could be harmless, like "I'm having a crappy day" or devastating like "I'm worthless.". These thoughts are normal but not necessarily trustworthy.
Beat Stress provide you a framework to write down your thoughts. By writing down your thought, you're separating it from yourself and giving yourself the ability to examine it skeptically.
